Our Story
Rhino began as a YMCA basketball camp in 1993 and grew through decades of coaching, player development, alumni relationships, and basketball experience. Players who came through it went on to college programs, professional contracts, and international rosters — and many of them now want to hand that knowledge back to the next group of kids.
That's what the Saratoga relaunch is: experienced players and coaches teaching the game the right way, in local gyms, at a cost kept low on purpose. Fundamentals first, no early cuts, and a program that stays open to any family who wants in.
Rhino Basketball Camps launch at the YMCA during our founder's early coaching years with the City Rocks. Fundamentals, fun, and everybody plays — the DNA was there from day one.
A bicoastal squad blending City Rocks athletes with our California players. Two coasts, one herd — proof the Rhino name travels.
Rhino goes global. Our founder builds the City Rocks international program, opening the pipeline between upstate New York basketball and the international game. Alumni land on club rosters overseas.
Rhino returns as a community, development-first youth program — starting with a free founding clinic in Saratoga, New York. Former college, professional, and international players come back to teach fundamentals properly, and sponsors keep the cost low so the door stays open.
